NCA: Grantham 2 Kicks Off With 2 Victories

Nottinghamshire Chess Association League has already started. In division 2, Grantham 2 have already played two matches a won both.

In the first match Grantham 2 played home and beat the surprise of last season - Gambit 3. On the top board Andrew Hebert crushed Keith Roper very quickly. Keith blundered a pawn and then Andrew, playing Black, put his Knight on d3-square and there was no doubt who will dictate the terms in this game.
Another big surprise was Grantham player on the board 5, Callum Foard, graded 111, who beat with Black pieces Gary Hopkinson, graded 140! An excellent debut for talented junior.
